The Citizens Police Liaison Committee, commonly known as CPLC, established in 1989, aims to serve the people of Pakistan by protecting life and property, preserving peace and safety, preventing crime, and upholding the law in a manner which has regard for the public good and the rights of the individual.
The Eduljee Dinshaw Road services the two finest architectural assets belonging to the colonial rule that is the Karachi Port Trust Building and the Imperial Custom House. The project was inaugurated by the Governor of Sindh on 13th December 2015. Due to apathy, the vicinity was frequented encroached by transporters; shops turned into godowns frequented by laborers and fork lifters, thus becoming an eye sore and dissuading any tourist desire to have a look at the two architectural marvels.
General Shipping Agencies (Pvt) Ltd collaborated with the Consulate General of Italy, Karachi Port Trust (KPT), I am Karachi (IAK) and International Public Art Festival (IPAF) to create Pakistan’s largest public art mural painted by Italian artist Mr. Giuseppe Percivati at GSA House and inaugurated on 19th December 2018 by Mr. Iftikhar Ali Shallwani, Commissioner Karachi.
IBA is an internationally acclaimed and distinguished, business administration university in Karachi, Pakistan. It is the oldest business school outside North America established in 1955 with initial technical support provided by the world famous Wharton School of Finance, University of Pennsylvania; later, the University of Southern California set up various facilities at the Institute and several prominent American professors were assigned to the IBA. IBA has zealously guarded the high standards and academic traditions it had inherited from Wharton and USC while adapting and adjusting them with the passage of time.
The National Institute of Maritime Affairs, was founded in 2006 under the Prime Minister’s directives to function as a premier, think tank of Pakistan in maritime policy research, carry out advocacy & capacity building and maintain repository of authentic data to provide input & solutions to relevant stakeholders.
Panah Trust was registered in 2001 and provides shelter and solace to women who are victims of domestic violence and societal injustices and empowers them to take the path of socio-economic independence.
Public Interest Law Association of Pakistan (PILAP) was formed by a group of concerned citizens with the primary objective of enabling Pakistanis to attain the realisation of their civil, human, economic, social and political rights. It is an independent, non-political and not-for-profit legal organisation that is dedicated to protecting and defending human rights through judicial means, across Pakistan. It was founded in 2011 as an association.
Sahil Welfare Trust (SWT) is a philanthropic organisation working for the prosperous future of deprived ones, particularly for the communities residing in the coastal areas of Sindh, i.e. Thatta, Sujawal and Badin. Since its inception in 1995, SWT has performed countless activities such as subsidised medical care, free medical camps, seminars, the provision of formal and technical education, collaboration with disaster management institutions, skill development centres, women empowerment programmes, microfinancing for farmers and fishermen, and many more.
Zainabia Educational Society is a community welfare organisation and a registered charity formed in 2003 and caters to the educational needs of deserving, underprivileged students of various localities across Karachi.
